Good news for Jenna Ortega’s fans

Wednesday spinoff in the works, will center on Fred Armisen's Uncle Fester

Great news for fans of the Netflix series Wednesday, featuring Jenna Ortega! A beloved character from the 'Addams Family' is set to star in its very own spinoff show.

According to a report from the American news agency Bloomberg, discussions about a second season of Wednesday started shortly after the debut of the first season on the streaming service. The new season is currently in production, and there are plans for a spinoff show featuring Uncle Fester.

Uncle Fester, portrayed by Fred Armisen, received a warm reception from fans in the first season for his quirky and unique character. However, Bloomberg's Lucas Shaw pointed out that the spinoff project is not guaranteed to happen, as various factors such as story development, talent contracts, and scheduling need to be addressed in the TV production process.

In an interview, Jenna Ortega, the star of Wednesday, shared updates about the upcoming second season. She mentioned that the focus would shift towards more horror elements. Ortega explained, "We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously."

For those unfamiliar, Wednesday is a highly acclaimed web series that follows the story of a young goth named Wednesday Addams. She enrolls in Nevermore Academy to develop her psychic skills and investigate a crime that occurred twenty years ago. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling spinoff and the anticipated second season!
